So this past weekend my roommates left our mattresses and electricity behind, traveled a whole 2 hours east and "roughed- it" for a night. Unfortunately by "roughing it" I mean we car camped for a night and were serenaded to sleep by the sound of the highway and the glow of the bathroom light.... not quite camping but still a great roommate bonding experience. Although we weren't completely removed from civilization we took some great hikes and escaped from the city. We had an epic "roasting stick-finding adventure" where I managed to slice my finger and started to gush blood. (leave it to me to be the one to get hurt) But we each returned to our camp site with a strong and sturdy stick in which we used to cook our hot dogs (or vegiedog for me :)), toast our bagels and of course make the perfect smores around the campfire. We even cooked a banana with marshmallows & chocolate in it which made quite the desert! The next morning we hiked to Tiger Mountain which is in the Snoqualmie Pass, an area that completely shuts down in the winter due to dangerous avalanche conditions. It was about 60 degrees and overcast that day but it made for perfect hiking weather. Unfortunately when we eventually made it to the top there was no view. When you ladies come to visit we'll have go go back because from the views I've seen online from Tiger Mountain are spectacular.

THE stick! ripping those branches off is where I managed to slice my finger...

Dinner that night - potatoes, corn & a vegie dog! Can't go wrong there. Of course the smores were my main dish.

The hike on Tiger Mountain was full of slugs! This guy took the cake for the most gross! I wonder how many I managed to kill....I tried to avoid them, but there were just too many!

There were also many beautiful things to enjoy along the way :) These flowers grow like weeds in the NW

We made it! Can you see us through the fog?
Ok, thats probably enough from me right now. Enjoy the pictures! I can't wait to see you this weekend! Love you all. Lex, so glad you're blogging with us! Chicky - will you see if Amber and Carolyn will blog with us too! Of course I need updates on all this wedding planning going on in CT!
