My Weekend Adventure

So this past weekend my roommates left our mattresses and electricity behind, traveled a whole 2 hours east and "roughed- it" for a night. Unfortunately by "roughing it" I mean we car camped for a night and were serenaded to sleep by the sound of the highway and the glow of the bathroom light.... not quite camping but still a great roommate bonding experience. Although we weren't completely removed from civilization we took some great hikes and escaped from the city. We had an epic "roasting stick-finding adventure" where I managed to slice my finger and started to gush blood. (leave it to me to be the one to get hurt) But we each returned to our camp site with a strong and sturdy stick in which we used to cook our hot dogs (or vegiedog for me :)), toast our bagels and of course make the perfect smores around the campfire. We even cooked a banana with marshmallows & chocolate in it which made quite the desert! The next morning we hiked to Tiger Mountain which is in the Snoqualmie Pass, an area that completely shuts down in the winter due to dangerous avalanche conditions. It was about 60 degrees and overcast that day but it made for perfect hiking weather. Unfortunately when we eventually made it to the top there was no view. When you ladies come to visit we'll have go go back because from the views I've seen online from Tiger Mountain are spectacular.
THE stick! ripping those branches off is where I managed to slice my finger...

Dinner that night - potatoes, corn & a vegie dog! Can't go wrong there. Of course the smores were my main dish.

The hike on Tiger Mountain was full of slugs! This guy took the cake for the most gross! I wonder how many I managed to kill....I tried to avoid them, but there were just too many!

There were also many beautiful things to enjoy along the way :) These flowers grow like weeds in the NW

We made it! Can you see us through the fog?

Ok, thats probably enough from me right now. Enjoy the pictures! I can't wait to see you this weekend! Love you all. Lex, so glad you're blogging with us! Chicky - will you see if Amber and Carolyn will blog with us too! Of course I need updates on all this wedding planning going on in CT!

I'm Here!

Hi all lovely ladies!

First of, thanks Beck so much for creating this! what a great idea! Hopefully this will help us all keep on top of whats going on in life! Even if we're all placed all over the place!

Yaay chicky for buying a house! You're so grown up! I'm so proud of you! Can't wait to come down for a BBQ - keep us posted! And, Kait, I haven't forgotten that you moved shortly ago and I definitely still owe your new place a visit! Let me know your address when you have time and we can figure out the best days for us to get together!

My life continues to be well. Just graduated from my master's program as you all know. And I also just got back from my most recent service trip in Peru, which was amazing! I'll be sure to post to send some more adorable pics of my super-sweet students as soon as possible! Now that I've adjusted to life back in America, I have begun my new "real" job! I'm excited - only took 23 years and a whole lot of school to finally get here! My position is an Intensive Care Coordinator - so basically I assess and support multi-stress families with children with severe emotional disturbances. Its a new program in MA, and its mandated and funded by the state. Its only my third day today, so its kind of slow for me - but I'm sure the crazy-ness will begin soon!

I was sooo happy to read all your stories and updates! Keep them coming!

Hope everyone is doing well and can't wait for our next reunion!
love,
lexi

I love it Beck! It sounds like you had a blast (i particularly love the backpack of champagne) and the pictures are great! You would definitely never see anything like that in CT!! Send some of that West Coast fun our way!
Nothing terribly exciting has been going on in my life. As you both know I Adam and I bought a house but we are kind of at a standstill now until our final walk through and closing, which wont be until late July. Until then I'll be packing. We had our inspection last week. It went well... no major issues. I can't want to get some pictures so I can post them! Hopefully we'll be all moved in so that we can have a BBQ in August.

Naked?

Yay! I'm so happy the two of you are doing the blog with me, we need to get everyone else in on this. I'm trying to figure out how we will get emailed each time someone posts something so we remember to check back. Kait put some picts up of your new place! I'll be in Boston only 3 weeks! YAY! Its been so hard being here recently. I feel like I keep myself busy and I don't miss home, but honestly I'm sitting on my couch right now, one roommate sleeping, Adam playing basketball, and I'm bored wishing I could just call or go visit one of you b/c it would only be 9pm there, not 12am. Oh well, I'll figure everything out eventually. Why is growing up so hard?

Anyway I didn't write to depress you I wanted to share some of my weekend with you! We went to the Fremont Solstice Parade. Its an annual event where people get naked, paint their entire bodies and bike ride down the parade route. Aside from the colorful naked bodies everywhere the smell of marijuana follows the parade route which ends in a beer garden over looking the city. We had our own "champagne" garden in form of camel packs full of champagne :) It was pretty nice and we all passed out before 9. Anyway, good weekend with the girls. Check out the picts!

Adam & Eve - They passed the apple the whole way!

You can never go wrong with a champagne filled camel pack!

( I know, I know I really shouldn't be laughing about any of it, but its only human nature to laugh at the expense of someone else's pain...) Fingers crossed, I won't be adding to the list. :)

Hey loves!
I'm having a hard time figuring out how to work this blog thing but I'm working on it!
Great idea Beck!
Hello Friends!
So since I have no idea when I'm moving back East I thought a blog would be a great way for us to keep in touch, share stories, gossip, ask advice, and well, just document our lives! Think.... 30 years from now when we're all married with 3 kids running around we can re-live our 20-somethings adventures. We can share pictures, link to other websites, and just write and comment on each others's posts. This blog will only be a much as fun as we make it so make sure you check in once a week to get the latest gossip. Of course I appreaciate phone calls too, but this I can do while I'm at work :)

Love you girls so much! I can't wait to see you again!

Lets get Blogging!
